La Trappe is one of a select group of Trappist breweries allowed to carry the logo “Authentic Trappist Product”. This logo guarantees authenticity, recipe, tradition and, in the case of La Trappe, a thriving working relationship between monastery and brewery.

La Trappe Quadrupel (ABV 10%) has a beautiful deep amber color and a lasting tan head. The aroma is of dark fruits and caramel; the warm taste is full and well-balanced; sweet notes of cherry, raisin, plum and vanilla are complemented by a pleasantly bitter and lasting finish. Tasting Notes

Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste.Quadrupel offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Vinification / Production

In 1991, The Koningshoeven brewery baptized her beloved Quadrupel under the approving glance of the monks. A closely guarded recipe became reality, and the first Quadrupel beer in the world was born.
